Hostal La Torre was recommended to us for the sunsets, and they really are spectacular. Perched on cliffs with ocean views, the setting is magical. But something didn’t quite add up. For a hostal, paying nearly €50 per person felt steep. Don’t get me wrong – the oyster special was outstanding, and the sea bass cooked to perfection. The service, too, was top-notch – when it got chilly, they brought blankets without us asking. Still, for a place branding itself as casual and accessible, the pricing feels more boutique-luxury. The mood is mellow with soft music and ambient lighting. Halfway through dinner I thought, “Would I come back at this price?” Maybe – for a special date. But not just any night. That contrast lingers.
