Cave of Sa Figuera Borda-The rave cave

The Rave Cave: Ibiza’s Hidden Cave near Cala Comte

The Rave Cave, also known as Cova de Figuera Borda, is an impressive cave near the iconic Cala Comte. This unique spot earned its nickname because secret parties were once held here, often during the full moon. Although those raves are now a thing of the past, this cave remains a popular spot for adventurers and sunset lovers.

The Magic of the Rave Cave

The Rave Cave isn’t actually a traditional cave but rather a large, gaping hole in the rock wall that connects two bays. Facing south, you’ll see the mysterious island of Es Vedrà in the distance. Look the other way, and you’ll spot the island of Illa de s’Espartar.

The sunset here is a magical spectacle. The tranquil atmosphere in and around the cave makes it a popular spot to enjoy this special moment. Both inside the cave and on the rocks above, locals and visitors gather with snacks and drinks to watch the sun dip into the sea.

Relaxation and Spirituality

The peaceful atmosphere also makes the Rave Cave a popular location for yoga, sound bowl, and meditation sessions. The impressive cliffs and serene surroundings create a moment of complete relaxation.

The Stairs and Fishermen’s Huts

A stone staircase leads you down along the rock wall, where you’ll find some old fishermen’s huts. These huts, also known as ‘dry docks’, were traditionally used by fishermen to store their boats and gear. This human touch adds an extra layer of charm to this natural wonder.
