Swing of Cala Xarraca

The Swing of Cala Xarraca: Ibiza's Hidden Instagram Hotspot

Cala Xarraca is a peaceful bay in the northeast of Ibiza, perfect for snorkeling, relaxing, and enjoying the tranquility. The main beach is popular, but did you know there’s a secret little cove nearby? This hidden inlet with traditional fishermen's huts is also home to the now-famous swing of Cala Xarraca – an Instagram hotspot you can't miss.

Where to Find the Swing of Cala Xarraca?

From Cala Xarraca beach, look to the far-right side, where you’ll see a pointed rock formation, a well-known spot for cliff diving. To the right of these rocks lies a group of fishermen's huts, and at the very edge, a rope dangles that serves as a swing. This simple rope has become a popular spot for unique photos.

To reach the swing, you can take two routes. You can swim from the fishermen's huts to the rope or grab the rope from the platform above and gradually lower yourself down. Either way, you won’t stay dry – so be sure to wear your swimsuit!

Note: The Swing Isn’t Always There

The swing often disappears – sometimes broken, sometimes removed, and for reasons unknown. However, a new swing is usually put in place, although patience may be required. It’s a bit of luck, but if the swing is there, you’ll have a unique opportunity for an amazing photo.

Location and Access

The best place to park is along the roadside near the point called ‘Xarraca Colum’. There you’ll find a small inlet where you can leave your car. From that point, a simple 5 to 10-minute walk will lead you to the fishermen’s huts and the famous swing.

Tips for the Perfect Photo

- Visit the swing early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid crowds. - Bring a waterproof phone case if you plan to swim to the swing. - Wear water shoes for extra grip on the rocky surface. - Be mindful that the swing’s presence can vary – sometimes it's simply not there.
